07 Rebirth

Los Angeles, Frogtown

✱ Read more about our rebirth artists here

07 KIVE: Rebirth embraced the continual cycle of becoming through four immersive rooms. The event showcased a gallery with work by Savvy D and Tiffany Wei, alongside a short film screening room curated by Devin DeSouza—highlighting the transformative journeys of artists whose creative rebirths align with our central notion of renewal. Our Blank Canvas room and Convo Questions lounge, both self-exploration labs, invited participants to reflect on their past, present, and future through torn magazine collages and curated question cards, sparking deep connections, vulnerability, and shared discovery. This experience was designed to give participants the space to openly connect with others, as well as reconnect with themselves, emphasizing that true creative expression comes from self-awareness and shared experiences.

Wear to Play Concept Video

06 KIVE: Wear to Play was a Futsal and Design Tournament that challenged modern consumerism by inviting creatives to engage in a day of active play, where each team plays in their favorite outfit. The concept celebrates that clothing is meant to be worn, torn, and loved rather than passively consumed. Blending the worlds of fashion and sport, Wear to Play emphasises that all designs are meant for real-life use. This unique gathering brought together the sports and fashion communities, fostering connection and celebrating the synergy between creativity and conscious consumption.

05 Urban Eden

02 February 2024
Los Angeles, Frogtown

✱ Interactive Task: Give a Flower to Stranger

06KIVE: Urban Eden marks the second part of our Biophilic event series, inviting participants to reflect on the intricate relationship between nature and urban life. The event serves as a poignant reminder of the harmony we seek amidst the chaos of contemporary existence. Curated DJ sets create an immersive soundscape, and in collaboration with the 88Trade Flea Market, another vibrant LA community, attendees engaged with local tattoo artists and offerings from curated designers. Playful activities like table tennis and pickup soccer encouraged connection and interaction. Kive's "Give a Flower to a Stranger" initiative emerged as a gesture, using blooms as conversation starters to foster genuine connections. Urban Eden reminds us of the beauty that can flourish even in urban spaces. In this gathering, we sought to cultivate a deeper understanding of our role in nurturing both community and the natural world around us.

04 Biophilic: Listening Experience

02 December 2023
Los Angeles, Arts District

DJ Set + Community

04KIVE: Biophilic aims to explore the intersection of nature and urban life, highlighting how these elements coexist and influence one another. Through a multisensory listening experience featuring an experimental DJ set, ambient sound bath, and curated mixology, we aimed to highlight the often discordant ways humans engage with the environment. Our drinks such as "Stop Burning Our Forests" and "Metallic Mirage" reflect these complexities, tapping into the less harmonious aspects of our relationship with nature. This event fosters community and emphasises the importance of creating conversations around our relationship with nature in today's world.

03 Playground

22 October 2023
Los Angeles, Frogtown

03 KIVE: Playground turned our space into a place where creatives could tap into their youthful spirit and embrace playfulness. With an expanded conversation lounge, interactive art stations, and a lineup of LA vendors and designers, we wanted to bring the energy of childhood play, into an adult space designed for artistic expression and connection. From pickup soccer, to tooth gems, flash tattoos, and a live synth/ cello set by Omeed and Chloe, Playground is a call to embracing youth.

Symbiosis Interface by Kenzo Han

Geo-Kive Concept Video

02 KIVE: Geokive utilised nature as the focal point of conversation, with the "Geo" conversation lounge as a platform for meaningful reflection. Filled with unsellable plants donated by Mickey Hargitay, the space embodied renewal and second chances. A 2D visual curation by Kenzo critiqued the complex relationship between humans and nature, inviting guests to engage deeply with the theme. The event also featured a market with LA-based designers, a pop-up photography booth, and a clothing donation area, all promoting sustainability and conscious consumption.
